Having had many surgeries over the years, i was in no rush to go under the knife for yet another.. however after initial examination and subsequent referral to Mr Chana it was abundantly evident that my right hip was totally worn out, had painful groin strain and very limited movement.
From the outset Dr Chana i found him extremely personable and very easy to talk to. He showed me the xray of the hip which clearly showed an operation was the only option. He clearly detailed the operation which included the possible downsides of having an operation, ensuring that I fully understood the implications. I was given plenty of time to ask any questions and he gave me answers that I could understand!
On 17th August, i went into Ashford Hospital for the operation, after admission Dr Chana made time to come to the ward prior to the operation and again in a very calming manner explained the upcoming proceedure. I had no worries or concerns and the operation went ahead a short time later.
Only 19 hours after the operation, i was given a physio assessment and immediately was discharged from them, the operation had clearly been a success, movement was back and aside from post op pain, i was up and mobile.I was released from hospital in only 2 days after surgery.
After release from hospital, I was only on crutches for 2 weeks and riding a pedal cycle up to 10 miles within 5 weeks. Still getting over my hip replacement but cannot thank Dr Chana enough for his skill as a surgeon but also for his very personable approach to engaging and explaining everything which gave me absolute faith in his undoubted ability.
I have 2 very painful arthritic knees and these may need sorting with full knee replacements, i hope that Dr Chana is available to conduct these operations when needed.
I have no worries in fully recommending Dr Chana.
